New for 2012We’ve added a half marathon distance this year! In addition the race will employ chip timing to generate results quickly for all participants. All races will still start and finish in beautiful Olen Park. Each race course follows roads along the banks of the Pigeon River. All courses are mostly flat and fast except for a short section of gently rolling hills on the ½ marathon and 10K course. 2012 Pigeon River Classic Event Schedule
RegistrationOnline registration is currently available and will be open until 9:00 p.m on May 4, 2012. Runners may register in person on race day but fees increase significantly. Runners must register by April 21, 2012 to receive a shirt. No shirts will be available to runners who register on race day. REGISTER NOW EventsHalf MarathonThe course starts in Olen Park in downtown Clintonville, WI. Runners leave the park heading east along 7th Street that follows the Pigeon River. The course veers left onto the rolling hills of Klemp Road before turning onto rural Nohr Road, a narrow tree covered road that also follows the Pigeon River. Runners turn left onto 7th Street and travel a large clockwise loop through forest and farm country before returning to 7th Street. The course turns onto Beacon, then Madison, and finally Auto Street as it makes its way through rural countryside and into the neighborhoods of Clintonville. Runners reenter Olen Park and finish in the shade of its tall trees. 10K RunThe course starts in Olen Park in downtown Clintonville, following the half marathon course until 7th Street where the runners will turn right and travel back into the neighborhoods of Clintonville before returning to finish among the big trees in Olen Park. 5K RunThe 5K course also starts and finishes at Olen Park in downtown Clintonville, WI and follows the 10K course for 1 mile before veering right, staying right on 7th Street before rejoining the 10K course on Beacon. It follows the 10K course (see above) for the remainder of the race. Runners finish in the natural shade of Olen Park. 5K WalkThis event is open to casual and fitness walkers and follows the same course as the 5K Run. You may walk with your dog but the dog must be on a leash and you must carry a plastic bag to clean up properly after your dog. One Mile Kid’s RaceThis event is open to all kids 12 and under. The one mile race starts and finishes in Olen Park. The course takes place entirely within Olen Park and features two laps of an 800 meter loop . Parents may run with their kids. The course is spectator friendly. Aid StationsThe Half Marathon features four aid stations at 2.8, 6.3, 9.8, and 11.6 miles. The 10K route has two aid stations. The first is located at 2.8 miles and the second at 4.7 miles. The 5K course has one aid station located at 1.6 miles. Water & HEED will be served at aid stations on the race course. Race Fees
No refunds or participant transfers. This means that once you are registered we will not send your entry fee back nor can you transfer your entry to another runner. Transfers from the 10K to the 5K allowed before May 15. $25 charge for cancelled and NSF checks. Awards
Awards CeremonyPost race awards ceremony will take place near the park shelter at 11:00 am. Age Groups
